RNF is celebrating after winning a Techies award – one of the most coveted industry awards in the UK technology sector – for the second year running. RNF was named Retail and eCommerce Innovator of the Year at this year’s awards last night, just 12 months after being named Rock Star Development Team of the Year.

The Techies celebrate innovation, disruption and entrepreneurship across the UK technology scene, with winners being chosen by a panel of industry experts in recognition of their achievements pushing boundaries in their field.

RNF won the Retail and eCommerce Innovator of the Year award for its work developing a customer engagement platform – BEAM – that allows customers to engage more effectively with customers using their retail apps.

Rob Mannion, founder and managing director of RNF Digital, said: “Winning the Rock Star Development Team award last year was a huge fillip for the business and to follow this up with another award this year is a fantastic achievement.

The latest version of BEAM, which was launched last month, includes SMS functionality so marketers can contact app users who do not have push notifications activated on their device. It also offers rich push notifications  (images and videos) to increase engagement, and product placement modules that create new revenue streams. An audience builder also allows BEAM customers to target specialist audience segments with campaigns that draw information from their own user data, such as device type, location and purchase / campaign engagement history. Companies can also configure their own business intelligence – pulling in real-time sales data to give an accurate view on everything from top-spending customers to market share of certain products and footfall in specific locations.
