Midlands Mobile App Consultancy given Highly Commended in top industry award for innovation

Midlands-based RNF Digital Innovation was in company with some of the biggest brands in the world, when it was given Highly Commended in Best Mobile Innovation Award category at the Marketing New Thinking Awards 2016 in London this week.

The accolade was awarded for their bespoke campaign management tool for Bestway Wholesale. The campaign management platform, BEAM delivers content triggered by user behaviour, geofences or iBeacons to help increase footfall or transactions made on the existing Bestway mobile app that RNF had previously built for them.

The platform enables Bestway to tailor messages to their app audience based on customers’ behaviour and location and in doing so increase their impact.

The deployment of iBeacons in their 60 depots was the largest of its kind in the UK and has successfully demonstrated just how powerful this new technology can be in combination with the right app and campaign management tool.

Since its launch in May 2015, the app has been downloaded over 18,000 times, and with over 4 million interactions, the net sales from the app are now nearly £4 million per month an increase of 100% versus previous year.

Other statistics include:

  • The app now drives 25% of overall digital revenue up from 16% less than a year ago. The app generates more revenue than any of the 60 depots.
  • Over 75 products have featured on iBeacons and over 70% of those saw an average increase in sales of circa 14% versus the previous period.
  • Bestway Wholesale have differentiated themselves from their competition through constantly leading the way with technology, winning the Grocer Technology Supplier of Year Award in 2015.
  • In addition, Bestway were able to sell the product placement to suppliers meaning it created an extra revenue stream for their business.
